Yale New Haven Health announced this month it plans to buy three more hospitals operated by Prospect Health. In addition to Bridgeport Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, Yale New Haven Hospital and Westerly Hospital, the system will add Waterbury Hospital (357 beds), Manchester Memorial Hospital (249 beds) and Rockville General Hospital (102 beds). The purchase continues an ongoing trend toward health care consolidation on small and large scales. NEENAH - When Dan Began decided to do a fundraiser to support youth mental health almost five years ago, he never imagined the effort would grow to what it is today. It started with a simple question. Began knew Mike Altekruse, the mental health coordinator for the Neenah Joint School District, and one day he asked him something along the lines of: "If I raised some money, could you use it to help student mental health in the district?" That conversation stemmed from the devastation Began felt after his son, Patrick, died by suicide, and it led him to host a fundraiser in 2017 at a tennis club in Appleton. With about 150 attendees, they closed out the event having raised about $75,000. And donations have continued to come in ever since.  Tennis was a passion for Patrick, which is why they decided to host the event at a tennis club.
