Inogen Oxygen Concentrator Review – Forbes Health - Forbes

Image
Unlike traditional compressed gas cylinders (tanks filled with oxygen), oxygen concentrators provide a safe source of oxygen-enriched air using room air, which is a mixture of 21% oxygen and 78% nitrogen. An oxygen concentrator draws room air into a cylinder that filters dust, bacteria and other air particles and absorbs nitrogen, which results in concentrated oxygen (90% or higher). There are two types of oxygen concentrators: portable and stationary. Portable models typically use pulse mode delivery in which oxygen is delivered when the user begins to take a breath. Meanwhile, stationary models feature a continuous flow of oxygen. Inogen currently offers three portable oxygen concentrator products—the Inogen One G3, G4 and G5—and one stationary model called Inogen at Home. Below is a summary of their key features. Customization Options and Special Features Splurge on the double battery for the Inogen One models if you want more flexibility with your time away from home. A d...

Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease - Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment - Prevention Magazine

Developing a rash under any circumstance can be concerning and a little annoying. But suddenly getting a rash with painful sores is understandably alarming. While plenty of health conditions can cause a rash, there's one in particular that tends to circulate more during the warmer months: hand, foot, and mouth disease. Not familiar with hand, foot, and mouth disease? It's not a comfortable illness, but it's more common than most people realize, says William Schaffner, M.D., an infectious disease specialist at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Here's what you need to know. What is hand, foot, and mouth disease? Best Portable Oxygen Concentrators Of 2022 – Forbes Health - Forbes

Image
There are numerous features to consider when choosing a portable oxygen concentrator, but there are a few particularly important details to think about when browsing your options. Oxygen Delivery Modes While stationary oxygen concentrators deliver a continuous flow of oxygen, portable devices can either provide a continuous flow or a pulse mode, explains Bacheler. Pulse mode POCs can only be used by those using nasal cannulas who have enough breathing power to trigger the device to deliver a pulse of oxygen. People with tracheostomies (a surgical opening in the neck into the trachea) or very poor breathing ability need a continuous flow POC. Some POCs feature both pulse dose and continuous flow settings. It's also important to consider the amount of oxygen needed, says Bacheler. Pulse mode POCs can typically deliver 1 to 6 liters of oxygen per minute, though some small ones are limited to 3 liters per minute. Continuous flow POCs can only provide 1 to 3 liters of oxygen per m...

Harsh Mander: As India gasped for oxygen in the second wave, those in power looked the other way - Scroll.in

Image
Waiting to refill medical oxygen cylinders for Covid-19 patients at a private refill centre in New Delhi. | Prakash Singh / AFP In a stunning reply to a question in Parliament last July, the Union government reported that it had no information about any deaths anywhere in the country because of the shortage of oxygen. Uttar Pradesh's bellicose saffron-robed Chief Minister Adityanath went so far as to threaten to seize the property of anyone who alleged oxygen shortages, claiming that there was no shortage anywhere. This, at a time when in every corner of the country, oxygen became incalculably more precious than gold. People begged every hospital, pleaded with everyone they knew, harvested any influence they could muster, for oxygen, and too many watched their loved ones choke to death. The BBC fittingly described this as "a nightmare on repeat, waiting for the terrifying moment w...

The dispute centers on Grotonics' alleged failure to supply a specific business certifi...
